The Lagos State Police Command said a 25-year-old man, Chibunna Chiemelie, who allegedly stabbed his father to death at their residence on Oba Kabiru Street, Isolo, Lagos, is in their custody, pointing out that the Command has commenced investigation into the matter.
Daily Intel Newspaper gathered that Chiemelie was arrested following a report made at the Aswani Police Division by his father’s neighbour.
The spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said the suspect confessed to the crime following his arrest.
“The incident occurred on October 3, 2024, at around 9:30 pm, when a complainant reported to the Aswani Division that he had received a call from his father’s neighbour.”
“Police officers were dispatched to the scene, where a blood-stained knife was discovered near the deceased. Photographs of the scene were taken, and the victim was rushed to the General Hospital in Isolo, where he was pronounced dead”.
The suspect during questioning admitted to killing his father. The body has been deposited at the General Hospital mortuary, while the investigation is ongoing.
