Six hospitals in Israel are preparing to receive hostages ahead of the ceasefire implementation.
The development comes after Israel security cabinet approved the Gaza ceasefire and hostage release deal on Friday.
A report quoted the head of medical directorate at Israel’s health ministry, Dr. Hagar Mizrahi as saying “Our main concern is the long time… they are probably held in very, very bad conditions, lack of nutrition, lack of hygiene,”
Around 100 hostages including civilians and soldiers has been in captive inside Gaza.
Daily Intel reports that under phase one of the ceasefire first announced on Wednesday, 33 hostages are expected to be released as early as Sunday, in exchange of scores of Palestinian prisoners.
Dr. Mizrahi also told the AP that staff are preparing to assist people with their mental health.
Israel’s military believes at least a third of the remaining hostages — and up to half of them — are dead.
