Senator representing Anambra South, Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah is dead
The senator, who was representing Anambra South Senatorial District in the Nigerian Senate, was said to have departed Nigeria for the United Kingdom, UK, two days ago.
According to a close family source, Ubah died in a UK hospital where he went for surgery.
However, some sources said the lawmaker died in a hotel in London.
Ubah, would have clocked 53 years of age on September 3, had defected last year from the Young Progressives Party, YPP, under which he was elected for two terms, to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
Before his death, the late senator was gearing to seek for the ticket of the APC to run for the governorship seat of Anambra State.
A source claimed he made a monetary donation to Anambra APC two days ago.
The business mogul, who was the chief executive of Capital Oil, had survived an assassination attempt in September 2022.
His death comes just a few days after the president-general of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, passed on.
