The Central Bank of Nigeria has appointed 16 new directors in an ongoing restructuring to strengthen the bank’s operations.
The new directors are to head the following departments: Monetary Policy; Trade and Exchange; Banking Supervision; Payment Systems and Consumer Protection among others.
The directors are: Jide- Samuel Avbasowamen, director of the information technology department; Abdullahi Hamisu, director of the banking services department; Ojumu Adenike, director of the medical services department; and Makinde Olanrewaju, head of the procurement and support services department.
CBN also appointed Sike Ijeoma as Director of the Financial Policy and Regulation Department; Isa-Olatinwo Aisha, Director of Consumer Protection Department; and Oboh Victor Ugbem, Director of Monetary Policy Department.
Also, Nakorji Musa was appointed to head the trade and exchange department; Yusuf Rakiya to lead the payments system supervision department; Vincent Modesola to oversee the strategy management and innovation department; Farouk Muhammad is to lead the reserve management department while Akinwunmi Olubukola Akinniyi will be in charge of the banking supervision department.
Also, Solaja Mohammed-Jamiu was appointed to lead the other financial institutions’ supervision department (OFISD); Hassan Umar as the director of development and finance institutions supervision department while Adedeji Adetona will lead the currency operations and branch management department.
The CBN also appointed Okpanachi Moses as the head of the statistics department.
