National Council for Women Societies, NCWS, has felicitated the Muslim Ummah on this year’s Eid-el-Fitr.
Acting National President of the council, Mrs Geraldine Ita Etuk gave the felicitation yesterday on behalf of NCWS, urging the faithful to continue to uphold the virtues of sacrifice and love as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.
“I extend warm felicitations to the Muslim Ummah in Nigeria and around the world as they celebrate Sallah.
“This auspicious occasion, which commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah’s command, is a significant moment for reflection, gratitude and celebration.
“We acknowledge the values of sacrifice, obedience and compassion that this celebration embodies and appreciates the spirit of love, kindness and generosity that defines the Muslim community.
“As we celebrate this joyous occasion, we pray for peace, unity and prosperity in our nation and the world at large.
“Once again, we congratulate our Muslim brothers and sisters on this blessed occasion and wish them a joyous and peaceful celebration,” Mrs Etuk said.
