Ahead of the Saturday’s governorship election, the Independent National Electoral Commission has commenced the distribution of sensitive materials to the 18 local government areas.
Sources said the distributions commenced at the premises of the Central Bank of Nigeria in Benin, on Thursday.
It was further gathered that representatives of various political parties, Inter-Party Advisory Council ,IPAC, and security agencies were on hand to inspected the materials before they were dispatched.
The State Resident Electoral Commissioner Mr. Onuoha Anugbum, said the distribution was part of efforts to ensure hitch-free conduct of Saturday’s election.
He assured that all the materials would get to the local government offices of INEC by the end of Thursday.
The REC added that the materials would later be moved to the Registration Area Centres on Friday.
