Governors from the northern states on Thursday reportedly went into closed-door meeting with the National Security Adviser, NSA, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu and all the service chiefs.
The meeting Daily Intel learnt is being held at the Office of the National Security Adviser in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
Although details of the meeting are still sketchy, it may not be unconnected to the incessant killings and kidnapping in the region.
Most parts of the north had been rampaged by bandit attacks and kidnapping, raising security concerns accros the region.
For instance, on March 7, bandits abducted 287 students from the LEA Primary and Junior Secondary School, Kuriga, in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Similarly, about 112 internally displaced persons were abducted at Gamboru Ngala in Borno State.
In the same week, no fewer than 15 students were abducted in Sokoto State by bandits.
