Atiku Abubakar, former vice President and the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party ,PDP, in the 2023 general election, met with former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Monday in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, where they held a closed-door meeting.
Mr Atiku who arrived at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta at 12:36pm was accompanied by former governors of Cross River and Sokoto States, Liyel Imoke, Aminu Tambuwal, and Abdul Ningi, the senator representing Bauchi Central, was received by Mr Obasanjo’s ally, Oyewole Fasawe.
Although Daily Intel could not immediately ascertained the purpose of the meeting, but it may be unconnected with the rumoured alliance to unseat President Bola Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 election.
