The National Industrial Court on Monday declared Thursday, December 19, 2024, to Monday, January 6, 2025 as Christmas and New Year vacation.
The President of the Court, Justice Benedict Kanyip said in the notice which was published on the court’s website that the declaration was in pursuant to Order 58 Rule 4(1) (c) of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria (Civil Procedure) Rules 2017.
According to the notice, there will be no court sitting during the vacation, it stated that the normal court sitting shall resume on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.
“The Hon. President of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria, His Lordship, Hon. Justice Benedict Kanyip, PhD, OFR has declared Thursday, December 19, 2024, to Monday, January 6, 2025 as Christmas and New Year vacation.
“Justice Kanyip made the declaration pursuant to Order 58 Rule 4(1) (c) of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria (Civil Procedure) Rules 2017.
“According to the notice signed by the Hon. President, Justice Kanyip stated that there will be no Court sitting during the vacation and that the Normal Court sitting shall resume on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.
“Industrial Court has exclusive jurisdiction in civil causes and matters relating to or connected with any labour, employment, trade unions, industrial relations and matters arising from workplace, the conditions of service, including health, safety, welfare of labour, employee, worker and matter incidental thereto or connected therewith”
