The kidnapped former Delta State Commissioner for Technical Education, Hon. Joan Onyemaechi Mrakpor has been released by her abductors.
Mrakpor, a former member of the House of Representatives regained her freedom late Friday night.
Daily Intel Newspaper gathered that she arrived Delta State capital and was taken to an undisclosed hospital.
The abductors had earlier demanded N1billion ransom, but the amount paid for her released is not certain.
The spokesman of the Delta State Police Command, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed her release.
Edafe however did not give further details on the release of the female politician cum cleric.
Recall that Hon. Mrakpor was forcefully kidnapped by gunmen on July 30 from her church premises along the DBS Road in Asaba, the Delta State capital.
A police aide and one other person lost their lives in the kidnap attack while some others sustained injuries.
