Kanunta Kanu, brother to the detained leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, has lashed out at Bashir Ahmad, a former aide to ex-President Mohammadu Buhari for his malicious remarks concerning the release of Kanu.
Mr. Ahmad, a known critic of the Igbos, had in a post via X stated that anyone rooting for Kanu release is an enemy of Nigeria.
He however stressed that “he would only support Kanu’s release if the separatist leader undergoes rehabilitation and renounces his derogatory views about Nigeria and its citizens.”
But reacting to the statement, Mr Kanunta who is the younger brother to the IPOB leader said in a post on his social media handles that the former Presidential aide lack the locus standi to comment on Kanu release.
He said Mr. Ahmad served under the administration of Buhari which has been adjudged the worst in the history of Nigeria.
He reminded that the north where he (Ahmad) hailed from is still under the siege of terrorism and bandit attacks.
He pointed out that every word Kanu said has come to pass. Drawing Ahmad’s attention to some of Kanu’s words, Mr. Kanunta asked: is Nigeria not corruption? Is the Igbos not marginalised?
The post reads: “ Bashir Ahmad quoted that he would only support Kanu’s release if the separatist leader undergoes rehabilitation and renounces his derogatory views about Nigeria and its citizens.
“Nnamdi kanu message has been consistently consistent and every word that came out of his mouth has come to pass. What do you want #MNK to renounce, that Nigeria is corrupt, that Igbo’s are marginalised or that he wants the freedom of his people?
“Bashir Ahmad you need a psychiatric evaluation for failing to end terrorism in the North and for working with the worst government in the history of Nigeria. Aren’t you ashamed of yourself and the damages morons like you have caused the country?”
