The process of recalling Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has reportedly commenced in polling units that makes up her constituents.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan was suspended by the Senate for six months after she was accused of disrespecting members of the Senate and disobedience to Senate rule.
The embattled Senator had accused President of the Senate, Senator Goodwill Akpabio of sexual harassment and victimisation. Akpabio has since denied the allegation.
Daily Intel gathered that the recall process initiated by the electorates against Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan cut across all political parties of the Kogi Central Senatorial District.
The process which reportedly commenced on Wednesday is said to witnessed large turnout of electorates in local government under the constituents and that they cited poor representation and lack of confidence.
The recall process is expected to take two days across all polling units in the five local governments of Kogi Central, during which the constituents will be required to sign a petition calling for the senator’s recall.
