Gunmen on Monday killed three persons in a fresh attack in Bokkos local government of Plateau state.
The development is coming days after the state governor Barrister Caleb Mutfwang in a statement declared that his administration was winning the war against insecurity.
While confirming the incident, the Chairman of Bokkos Local Government Council, Hon. Amalau Samuel Amalau said six persons injured in the attack are receiving medical attention in Bokkos.
“This is a season of jubilation and excitement across our land yet some individuals, driven by malicious intent, have chosen to cause harm to lives and property. This act is deeply disheartening and unacceptable,”
The Chairman called on security agencies to take swift action in apprehending and prosecuting the perpetrators of the attack.
He emphasised that maintaining peace and harmony remains a top priority for his administration, urging residents to unite and protect their shared heritage.
He assured the local government was collaborating with security agencies to prevent future occurrences.
