Minister of Defence, Mallam Abubakar Badaru has declared that President Bola Tinubu is on the right track to revitalise the economy of the nation.
Badaru, who called for resilience and perseverance among Nigerians, said the president is on the verge of repositioning the country for sustainable development.
The minister made the call in Kaduna at a public lecture and launch of a book on salvaging Nigeria’s economy and the ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda of the Tinubu administration as part of activities marking Democracy Day.
The minister, who was represented by Major-General Ahmed Jibril, emphasised that President Tinubu had laid a solid foundation for entrepreneurship and economic development of the nation.
Kaduna State governor, who spoke through his Special Adviser on Economic Matters, Mallam Tanko Mohammed, urged youths to copy from the principles of achieving success as portrayed in the book.
Also speaking at the event, the Director-General, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, Dr Mohammed Bulama advised youths to learn from the virtues of President Tinubu.
In their separate remarks, the book reviewer, Professor Maryam Abdul and the paper presenter, Professor Set Akutson, eulogised Tinubu’s focus and courageous nature, leading to his emergence as the nation’s number one citizen.
Speaking on ‘Tinubunomics’, Professor Akutson averred that the reason for the increase in poverty is because government overtime had failed to create wealth.
Akutson, who is a Professor of Economics, said “poverty will not leave our land if we continue with our mindset of poverty reduction and running away from the fact that we need to create wealth. The wealth of a nation is not to reduce poverty, but to fight it.”
The two books, titled ‘Lifelong Ambition and a Discourse on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Political Life’ respectively, thoroughly examined Tinubu’s political career and his impact on Nigerian politics.
According to the author, Valentine Ejeh, the books offer Nigerians a comprehensive look at Tinubu’s journey and contributions to the socio-economic and political struggle of the nation.
