Yobe State governor, Mai Mala Buni has commended security agencies in the state for their efforts in ensuring peace, law and order in the state.
Buni gave the commendation during a meeting with heads of security agencies in Damaturu, the state capital, to deliberate on the security situation in the state ahead of President Bola Tinunu’s visit.
According to the governor, the meeting is to sustain collaboration with other stakeholders to ensure that the August visit is hitch-free.
The governor, represented at the meeting by his deputy, Idi Barde Gubana, expressed confidence that the occasion would be conducted in a peaceful manner through synergy with the security agencies and stakeholders.
Briefing journalists after the meeting, the state Commissioner of Police, Ahmad Garba explained that security operatives would be deployed for a proactive security measures across the state.
He appealed to people of the state to continue to support the security agencies by providing necessary information, especially as regards to the presidential visit.
He also advised youths to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner and avoid thuggery and other misconducts.
