Following the retirement of Echeng Eworo Echeng from the Nigeria police force, the Zone 9 Police Command Headquarters, Umuahia, has unveiled AIG Suleiman Amuda Yusuf as replacement.
The development was contained in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Zone 9 Command, DSP Iheanetu Bruno Chukwudera.
The statement said AIG Yusuf has assumed office.
According to the Command’s spokesperson, the Zone 9 Command oversees the affairs of the Imo, Ebonyi, and Abia State Commands.
He added that the outgoing AIG Echeng is celebrated for his exemplary service, commitment, and contributions to policing in the zone.
DSP Chukwudera revealed that AIG Yusuf hails from Lokoja, Kogi State, narrating that he began his career with the Nigeria Police Force on March 3, 1990, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).
The PPRO stated that AIG Yusuf holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Sociology from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
He described him as a versatile and experienced senior police officer who had undergone several professional and leadership training programmes.
The Command urged the people of Imo, Ebonyi and Abia States to support and cooperate with the new AIG in maintaining peace and security.
